Agreement to Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using skywayfriends.orgor any related application or interface (the “Service”) in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease all access and use of the Service.
This Privacy Policy describes how skywayfriends.org (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information when you visit skywayfriends.org. The website is operated by the Organization — the unincorporated community group operating under names including “Friends of the Saint Paul Skyway,” “Friends of the Skyway,” “Skyway Friends,” or “FOS” (see the Legal page for the full definition) — on a platform built and licensed to it by Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ. Membership records, registrations, donations, survey responses, and other personal information you submit are held by the Organization; Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ process that data on the Organization’s behalf as its technology provider. The platform itself — the source code, design, schema, and infrastructure — is owned by Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ (see the Legal page).
What we collect
- Survey responses. When you respond to a skyway survey we collect the answers you provide and, if you supply it, your name and email address.
- Event registrations. When you register for an event we collect your name, email address, dietary preferences, party size, and any notes you choose to share. We track confirmed and cancelled status to manage capacity and waitlists.
- Volunteer signups. When you sign up to volunteer we collect your name, email address, the role you selected, and any availability notes.
- Event ideas & photos. When you submit an event idea or a photo we collect the content you submit along with your contact email so we can confirm it is yours.
- Library submissions. When you submit a document to the Skyway Library we collect the file you upload, your name, and your email so we can credit and contact you.
- Email subscriptions. When you join our email list we collect your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
- Activity data. We log basic events such as page views, link clicks, and administrative actions so we can run the site safely and debug issues.
How we use it
- To run the organization — confirm registrations, manage event capacity and waitlists, coordinate volunteers, and send the periodic newsletter.
- To respond to your survey response, idea, photo, document, or feedback.
- To understand which efforts to prioritize for the preservation and expansion of the Saint Paul skyways.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers or marketers.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site:
- Vercel — hosting and edge delivery
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Resend — outbound email
These providers handle data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies:
- A signed admin session cookie used only for site administration.
- A short-lived cookie used to remember unlock tokens while you confirm an idea or photo submission.
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Retention
We keep registration, volunteer, idea, photo, library, and survey records as long as they are useful to operate the organization. We delete or anonymize records on request. Email-broadcast unsubscribes are retained so we can honor your choice not to be emailed.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your registration, your volunteer profile, your survey responses, your submissions, or any other personal information you have submitted by emailing skywayfriends@open-civ.com. You can unsubscribe from email broadcasts using the link in any email.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at skywayfriends.org/privacy-policy.
